Lingxi Chenyang is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law, specializing in climate change law, environmental law, and property law. Her interdisciplinary research explores the intersection of moral psychology, climate ethics, landscape ecology, property law, and environmental regulation.
Educational background includes a J.D. from Yale Law School where she studied environmental law and published on reducing meat demand as a climate policy strategy, a B.A. in Philosophy from Dartmouth College, and Ph.D. candidacy in Philosophy at the University of Michigan. She is a Global Priorities Fellow with the Forethought Foundation.
Her publications address critical issues at the nexus of law and environmental sustainability, with recent work examining food system governance, land use law in climate contexts, agroforestry policy, and resilient carbon management strategies. Her scholarship demonstrates consistent engagement with climate justice, policy reform, and the ethical dimensions of environmental regulation.
