Ling Huang is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Connecticut, affiliated with the Department of Economics within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental and Resource Economics from Duke University, an M.A. in Environmental Economics from Renmin University of China, and a B.A. in Finance from Beijing Technology and Business University. Her research focuses on environmental and resource economics, industrial organization, and policy evaluation using large micro-data. She is particularly known for analyzing sustainable urbanization policies through satellite imagery and machine learning, alongside dynamic models for optimizing natural resource usage.
Her research interests include evaluating environmental policies, strategic individual behavior, and the impacts of carbon pricing on energy markets. Notable works include studies on fisheries management, carbon emissions reduction in electricity markets, and the socio-economic effects of environmental disasters like the Deepwater Horizon incident.
Ling Huang's publications span environmental policy analysis, fisheries economics, and energy market dynamics.
