معرفی
Dr Ling Chen is a Researcher at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. Their computational research focuses on designing efficient catalysts for sustainable energy applications, leveraging first-principles calculations and high-throughput screening. Key areas include electrocatalysis and photocatalysis for reactions central to the Water, Carbon, and Nitrogen cycles (e.g., hydrogen evolution, CO₂ reduction, nitrogen fixation).
Research contributions span:
- Carbon Cycle Catalysts: Transition-metal/single-atom designs for CO₂-to-fuel conversion via C–C coupling.
- Nitrogen Cycle Catalysts: Non-precious catalysts for sustainable ammonia synthesis.
- Water Cycle Catalysts: Electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution/reduction in fuel cells.
Methodologies include DFT, thermodynamic/kinetic modeling, and automation workflows (VASP, CP2K, LAMMPS, Python). Dr Chen is eligible to co-supervise Masters and PhD students.
