Line Bjørnskov Pedersen is a Professor in Health Economics at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, and affiliated with the Danish Centre for Health Economics (DaCHE) and the Research Unit of General Practice. She holds a PhD and MSc in Economics and is actively engaged in research and teaching in health economics and primary care.
Research Interests: Her primary research areas include health economics, motivation and behavior in general practice, principal-agency theory, and discrete choice experiments. She investigates how economic and behavioral theories apply to physician decision-making and healthcare delivery, particularly in primary care settings.
Recent Research Trends: Her recent and upcoming publications (2025) focus on physician motivation during and after the pandemic, the clinical effects of accreditation in general practice, development of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for chronic care, experiences with quality clusters, and barriers to cross-sectoral collaboration in maternal care. These works reflect a strong emphasis on improving primary care quality, understanding healthcare provider behavior, and applying behavioral economics to health policy.
Scientific Contributions: She is actively involved in multiple research projects, including as Principal Investigator (PI) of the PINCH project and supervisor of several PhD projects. Her work is frequently published in high-impact journals such as Family Practice, Health and Quality of Life Outcomes, and BMC Primary Care.
Supervision and Grants:
