Lindy Michelle Samson

Lindy Michelle Samson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa and holds clinical leadership roles at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and Ottawa Children's Treatment Center (OCTC). She serves as Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer at CHEO, overseeing medical staff activities and ensuring clinical quality and patient safety. Her academic and research work focuses on pediatric infectious diseases, particularly pediatric HIV and the impact of social determinants on child health.

Her research spans pediatric HIV, including long-term management of perinatally acquired HIV and transition to adult care, alongside advocacy work addressing housing impacts on child health. She has developed medical education modules for evidence-based health advocacy and physician leadership training. Dr. Samson was Chief of CHEO's Division of Infectious Diseases from 1999 to 2016.

As a senior physician leader at CHEO, she collaborates with the CEO and reports to the Board of Trustees. Her work integrates biological, psychological, and sociological perspectives in pediatric care, emphasizing patient safety and health systems improvement.
