Lindsey Long

Lindsey Long serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Oklahoma Christian University, contributing to both Biology and Natural Health Science disciplines.

Her academic background includes:

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Colorado State University, where she researched the regulation of histone ubiquitination.
• Post-doctoral fellowship in the Academic Science Education and Research Training (ASERT) program at the University of New Mexico, characterizing quiescent cell responses to DNA damage.

Dr. Long's research focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms, with emphasis on genomics, DNA damage response pathways, and histone modifications. Through the Genomics Education Partnership, she actively integrates undergraduate students into authentic genomics research experiences, fostering scientific inquiry and technical skill development in laboratory settings.

As a dedicated mentor, she supports students through the National Research Mentoring Network and inspires young girls via Expanding Your Horizons, providing female STEM role models and career guidance.
