Lindsey Cormack is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Diplomacy Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology, located in Hoboken, New Jersey. She is affiliated with the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and leads research on American politics, congressional communication, civic education, and women in politics.

Her research focuses on strategic political communication in Congress, civic engagement, electoral systems, and the role of gender and identity in politics. She is particularly known for her work on how members of Congress communicate with constituents across platforms and during crises such as the pandemic and movements like Black Lives Matter. Her scholarship bridges academic rigor and public impact, with publications in leading journals including Political Behavior, Politics & Gender, and Legislative Studies Quarterly, as well as commentary in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and FiveThirtyEight.
Her recent publications show a strong trend in analyzing digital political communication, polarization, and civic participation, with a focus on how messaging varies by medium, gender, and political context. She explores topics such as ranked choice voting, congressional oversight, and emotional expression in politics, demonstrating interdisciplinary depth.

Cormack has served in various institutional roles at Stevens, including IGNITE Chair, Board of Trustees Academic and Student Affairs Committee Member, and Chair of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. She has advised on federal projects and served on editorial boards and professional panels, including for the National Science Foundation and McGraw-Hill. Her research has been supported by grants such as the CAL Research Seed Grant (2017–2018). She also founded and maintains DCinbox, a digital archive of congressional e-newsletters, and is the author of two books: Congress and U.S. Veterans: From the GI Bill to the VA Crisis (2018) and How to Raise a Citizen (And Why It’s Up to You to Do It) (2024).
She is actively involved in academic and civic communities, serving on professional societies such as the American Political Science Association (APSA), Southern Political Science Association (SPSA), and PolNet. She also contributes to public discourse through podcasts and media appearances, emphasizing democratic engagement and political education.
