Lindsey Clark is an Adjunct Professor in the Data Science Department at Middle Tennessee State University, based in the E. W. Midgett Building. She holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University (2005) and a BS from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2000). Her career spans academic research, postdoctoral work in drug discovery, and leadership roles in healthcare tech startups. Currently, she serves as the Director of Data Science at Healthcare Bluebook, focusing on healthcare quality applications and model deployment.
Her research interests include algorithm development, predictive modeling (e.g., XGBoost), and the intersection of data science with business strategy. Notably, she co-organizes the Data Science Nashville Meetup (1,800+ members) and has been recognized as the 2019 Data Scientist of the Year by the Greater Nashville Technology Council.
Lindsey advocates for data literacy, ethical AI practices, and the human-centric interpretation of data outputs. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes trust-building, empathy, and aligning technical work with organizational goals. She is also active in community initiatives like Blacks in Technology Tennessee and Women in Technology Tennessee.
