Lindsey Clark-Ryan is an Associate Professor of Art at Smith College, specializing in printmaking, drawing, and interdisciplinary studio art. Her creative practice explores the intersections of two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, mobility vs. stasis, and functional vs. non-functional objects through a deadpan lens influenced by scientific expeditions and archival research.
Education:
- M.F.A. and M.A. from University of Wisconsin–Madison
- B.F.A. from Washington University in St. Louis
Her work often incorporates site-specific residencies, including recent programs at Canada's Ayatana Artistic Research Program and North Carolina's Elsewhere living museum. Current projects focus on the narrative and kinetic potential of parachutes in prints and artists' books.
