Dr. Lindsay Young is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Her work focuses on health communication, social networks, and addressing health inequities through quantitative methods combined with critical perspectives. She holds affiliations as co-director of the Annenberg Networks Network (ANN) and associate director of the USC Center for AI in Society (CAIS).
Dr. Young earned her PhD in Media, Technology, and Society from Northwestern University, MS in Science Communication from Drexel University, and BA in Public Communication from American University.
Her research integrates social network analysis and computational methods to examine socio-environmental factors impacting health, particularly in sexual and gender minority communities. She designs community-driven interventions leveraging organic networks for health improvement. Current funding includes an NIH Pathway to Independence Award (2018-2024).

- Grants: NIH Career Development Award supporting work on health disparities
She previously served as a postdoctoral scholar at the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges public health, communication, and AI ethics through collaborative center initiatives.
