Dr. Lindsay Triplett is a Gratis Faculty member at the University of Connecticut's Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture. Her research investigates how predatory microeukaryotes affect bacterial ecology and evolution in plant rhizospheres, with applications in biocontrol. She co-founded the USDA-REEU Plant Health Fellows program (2017-2026) connecting students with research opportunities.
Research focuses on:
- Predator-prey dynamics in rhizosphere microbiomes
- Bacterial pathogen survival mechanisms
- Organic management impacts on soil health
Recent publications examine unculturable soil protists with complex life cycles enriched on plant roots globally. Her work combines field studies with laboratory cultivation techniques to reveal novel microbial interactions.
