Lindsay Holmgren is an Associate Professor (Teaching) in the Strategy & Organization Department at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management. She also serves as Director of the Laidley Centre for Business Ethics and Equity, Chair of the Academic Integrity Council, and Executive Council member of the International Society for the Study of Narrative. Holmgren holds a PhD in English Literature from McGill, with research focused on narrative theory, rhetoric, and ethics, particularly in economic and medical contexts.
Her education includes a BA, MA, and PhD in English Literature from McGill University. Research interests span narrative theory’s application to economics, ethics in management, and narrative medicine. A key project, H-CUE, explores how climate change and pandemic narratives affect Canadian students’ perceptions of finitude, involving interviews with 400+ students across five institutions.
Publications include works on narrative theory in economics, literary criticism, and medical pedagogy. She has received grants such as SSHRC Insight (2021–2026) and the Sustainability in Teaching Award (2024). Holmgren teaches courses like Ethics in Management (MGPO 450) and Social Context of Business (MGCR 460), emphasizing ethical decision-making and societal responsibility.
Awards include the ISSN presidency (2019–2022), Fonds de recherche du Québec (2005–2009), and multiple McGill grants. Her work bridges narrative studies with economics, ethics, and medicine, supported by interdisciplinary collaborations and over a decade of academic service.
