Lindsay Beaton

Lindsay Beaton is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Biology at Carleton University, affiliated with Health Canada’s Ionizing Radiation Health Sciences Division. She holds B.Eng., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from Carleton University. Her research focuses on biodosimetry, specifically cellular responses to ionizing radiation, automated methods for high-volume sample analysis, computational dose-response modeling, and astronaut radiation exposure programs. She also contributes to the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR), addressing radiation-induced health risks.

Her work emphasizes developing high-throughput systems for radiation emergency response and advancing computational tools for radiation exposure assessment. Projects include optimizing imaging flow cytometry techniques and establishing international standards for biodosimetry.
