Lindsay Barnhart serves as an Instructor and Program Director for the Early Childhood Education program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, part of the School of Education within the College of Arts & Human Sciences. She has been recognized nationally for her academic advising and leadership in community service initiatives.
Barnhart earned an Ed.S. in Career and Technical Education from UW-Stout in 2009. Her academic roles include serving as a Phi Upsilon Omicron (Family and Consumer Sciences Honor Society) advisor since 2020, co-adviser since 2017, and financial adviser from 2011. In 2024, she received the Bachtel/Holbrook Collegiate Advisor Award for her distinguished service.
Her research and advocacy interests emphasize community engagement and educational leadership. Under her guidance, the UW-Stout Tau Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron has received the Region 1 National Service Project Award for two consecutive years (2022-23 and 2023-24). Projects include packing birthday supplies for Stepping Stones of Dunn County, crafting blankets for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and organizing appreciation drives for local schools and healthcare patients.

Advising & Community Impact: Barnhart’s mentorship supports over 12 student members in the Tau Chapter, emphasizing collaboration and service. The chapter’s efforts prioritize creating safe, empowering educational spaces and addressing community needs.
