Lindsay August-Salazar

Lindsay August-Salazar is a Lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design, where she also serves as Area Head for Painting, Photography & Sculpture/New Genres Minors. She holds an MFA from the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine (2013) and a BA from the School of Arts and Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles (2008).

Research and Artistic Practice: Lindsay August-Salazar’s artistic practice revolves around the development of the Abstract Character Copies, a choreographic language integrating glyphic mark making, abstraction, postmodern dance, and typography. Her work explores the intersection of language, utopian ideas, and interdisciplinary expression, often manifesting in performance and visual art installations. Exhibitions include The Box in Los Angeles as part of the Pieter Project Space residency, reflecting her engagement with innovative artistic methodologies.
