معرفی
Lindon Moodie is an Associate Professor at Uppsala University's Department of Medicinal Chemistry; Drug Design and Discovery, affiliated with the Uppsala Antibiotic Centre. His research integrates synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology to explore antibiotic discovery, gut microbiome interactions, and small-molecule modulation of host physiology. He holds a PhD in Chemistry (2013) from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and previously worked at the University of Tromsø and Umeå University.
Research Interests: Moodie's work focuses on:
- Developing novel antibiotics using medicinal chemistry approaches.
- Investigating the impact of small molecules on the human microbiome and bacterial physiology.
- Designing strategies to selectively target pathogenic bacteria while preserving commensal microbes.
- Applying marine-derived compounds for antifouling and antimicrobial applications.
Publication Trends: His recent articles (2020–2025) emphasize:
- Antibiotic delivery systems (e.g., nanoparticle therapies).
- Marine natural products as antifoulants and antimicrobials.
- Analytical methods for dissolved organic matter characterization.
- Broad-spectrum antiviral agents and peptide engineering.
Additional Affiliations: Moodie collaborates with the Uppsala Antibiotic Centre, focusing on interdisciplinary solutions for antibiotic resistance.
