Linda T Doan

Linda T. Doan, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of Dermatopathology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine. Her research focuses on advancing molecular diagnostics for melanocytic neoplasms, particularly through the development of droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) as a cost-effective and efficient tool to detect CDKN2A deletions in melanoma. She has contributed to defining cutoff values for monoallelic and biallelic CDKN2A loss, improving diagnostic accuracy for histologically ambiguous cases.

Dr. Doan's work bridges genomic analysis with clinical pathology, aiming to refine melanoma diagnosis and reduce reliance on resource-intensive methods like chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA). She is affiliated with UCI's research community and has participated in studies supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) grant P30 CA023108.
