Linda Stihl is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at Lund University, with affiliations to the Department of Economic History, the interdisciplinary research center CIRCLE, and the Department of Human Geography (currently on leave of absence). Her research spans regional development in non-core regions and transitions toward sustainable global value chains.
Her PhD project (2023) examined agency in Sweden's old industrial regions (Borås, Kiruna, Olofström) over 30-40 years, contributing to the Agents of Change in Old Industrial Regions in Europe (ACORE) and Regional Growth Against All Odds (Regrow) projects. She now leads research on circular economy dynamics within Circular Value & Supply Chains, Regional Development, and Multi-Level Policy Dynamics.
Stihl has taught GIS spatial analysis, economic geography, and qualitative methods since 2009 and is a Qualified Teaching Practitioner in the Faculty of Social Sciences' Teaching Academy. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for regional prosperity and environmental protection.
She actively participates in academic events, including presentations at the 2025 X-shoring and Circular Economy conference, the 2024 Lund University Research Conference on Sustainable Development, and the Nordic City Network seminar.
