Linda Shuku is a CBR Research Fellow at the Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Her work bridges economic history and law, utilizing natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) to analyze legal texts.
- Education: MA in International Economics and Finance from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), PhD in Economics from King’s Business School, King’s College London
Her research focuses on the computational analysis of historical legal cases, such as Legal Evolution and Industrialisation: A Computational Analysis of Historical Poor Law and Workmen’s Compensation Cases and Exploring Computational Approaches to Law: Further Analysis of Historical Poor Law and Workmen’s Compensation Cases, supported by the Keyes Fund. She also investigates central bank communication strategies through NLP, examining speeches from the European Central Bank, Bank of England, and Federal Reserve.
