Linda Nichols

Dr. Linda Nichols serves as Dean of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, leading curriculum development and fostering business community engagement while championing experiential learning for future business leaders.

Her academic foundation includes:

• B.S. in Accounting (1980) from University of New Orleans
• Ph.D. in Accounting with minor in Finance (1989) from Louisiana State University

A certified public accountant and internationally recognized energy business expert, her research concentrates on financial reporting in the energy industry—particularly upstream operations—and international accounting standards. With extensive fieldwork across 30+ countries, she examines critical intersections of energy security, geopolitical dynamics, and financial transparency in global markets.
