Dr. Linda Nguyen is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary and holds the Azrieli Accelerator Assistant Professorship in Youth, Sibling, and Community Engaged Research. She is also a Child Health and Wellness Researcher at the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute, Owerko Centre. Her work focuses on supporting youth with disabilities and their siblings during the transition to adulthood, emphasizing family-centered services and participatory action research.
Dr. Nguyen earned her BHSc (2015), MSc (2017), and PhD (2022) in Rehabilitation Science from McMaster University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University’s School of Physical and Occupational Therapy and an internship in the Netherlands, expanding her expertise in sibling engagement and international research collaboration.
Her research interests include disability rights, transition to adulthood for youth with disabilities, knowledge mobilization, and implementation science. She collaborates with youth, families, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to co-develop programs and advocate for inclusive policies such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
