Her career spans medical social work, academic teaching in social work and counseling, and pioneering research in bereavement studies. She developed the Range of Response to Loss (RRL) theoretical model and associated tools like the Adult Attitude to Grief (AAG) scale, now widely used in bereavement services globally.
Her research focuses on validating grief assessment tools, including the AAG and Attitude to Health Change (AHC) scales for palliative care settings. Linda’s work integrates theoretical models with practical applications, emphasizing individualized grief responses and resilience-building strategies. Her initiatives, such as the Mapping Grief website, offer practitioners resources for grief assessment and intervention. She collaborates with hospices, academic institutions, and NGOs to advance bereavement care methodologies and community-based support systems.
