Linda King

Professor Linda King is a leading academic at Oxford Brookes University, serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Global Partnerships. She earned her BSc and DPhil in molecular virology from Oxford University and has been a faculty member at Oxford Brookes since 1986, ascending to Professor in 1998.

Her research focuses on insect virology and biotechnology, particularly baculovirus expression systems. She pioneered the flashBAC platform for recombinant virus production and co-founded Oxford Expression Technologies Ltd, a biotech spin-out.

Recent research trends include viral protein trafficking, gene therapy applications in organ transplantation, and vaccine development against zoonotic pathogens. She has secured major grants from DEFRA (£420,557) and BBSRC (£9,326) for projects like NanoZoo (2023-2026).
