معرفی
Dr. Linda J. S. Allen is P.W. Horn Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Texas Tech University. Her research specializes in mathematical biology, particularly stochastic modeling of infectious diseases and population dynamics.
Research focuses on developing stochastic models for zoonotic diseases, viral dynamics, and epidemic thresholds. Her work bridges mathematical theory and biological applications, with emphasis on disease persistence/extinction and spillover events.
She has supervised numerous graduate students through NSF-funded projects on modeling immune dynamics of RNA viruses. Publications consistently integrate mathematical rigor with biological realism in disease modeling.
Teaching includes stochastic processes and mathematical biology courses. She authored foundational textbooks on stochastic processes and mathematical biology used internationally.
Collaborations include researchers at University of Tennessee Health Science Center focusing on hantavirus dynamics and zoonotic transmission risk assessment.
