Linda J. Rice is a Professor in the Department of English at Ohio University’s College of Arts and Sciences, where she also serves as Director of the Master of Arts in English (MAE) Online program. She holds the endowed James S. Reid/Standard Products Company Professor of Humanities title, reflecting her sustained excellence in teaching and scholarship. Her work spans English education, young adult literature, and global literary studies, with a strong emphasis on pedagogy and curriculum innovation.

Her scholarship promotes integrative, student-centered teaching that bridges disciplines like history and social studies with literacy.
The recent articles reflect a consistent trajectory in literature-based education, teacher development, and pedagogical innovation. Themes include historical YA novels, psycholinguistics of political discourse, action research in teaching, and drama-based engagement. She leads and participates in multiple faculty learning communities focused on Team-Based Learning, Global Education, and Diverse Classrooms. Her leadership extends to professional organizations, having served as past president of the College English Association of Ohio and former secretary of OCTELA. Her international work includes workshops and keynotes in China, Jordan, Nigeria, and Lebanon, promoting global perspectives in literature and education.
