Linda Fan, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. She serves as Director of the Gynecology Section and leads multiple quality and safety initiatives, including chairing the Gynecologic Quality & Safety Committee and the GYN Operations Committee. Her clinical expertise focuses on minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, and urogynecological conditions.
Dr. Fan received her BA in American History from Princeton University (1996) and her MD from Columbia University (2002). She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center (2006). She is a board-certified subspecialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
Her research emphasizes patient safety, health equity, and menstrual health. Notable contributions include pioneering the GYN Consensus Guidelines Committee and revamping peer review processes. Her work on reducing surgical site infections in hysterectomy patients earned a national award in 2018.
Dr. Fan’s leadership extends to hospital-wide committees such as Yale Medicine Operations and the Perioperative Safety and Quality Committee. She actively collaborates on studies addressing menstrual hygiene barriers and equity-focused healthcare improvements.
