Dr. Lincoln Larson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University (NC State), within the College of Natural Resources. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Duke University, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia. His research focuses on human-environment interactions, emphasizing natural resource management, outdoor recreation's health benefits, and environmental education. He leads the Larson Lab, which conducts applied social science research to address conservation challenges in parks and protected areas.
Dr. Larson teaches courses such as Foundations of Outdoor Recreation Management and Human Behavior & the Environment. His grants include projects funded by the National Science Foundation, USDA Forest Service, and state agencies, addressing topics like urban greening equity, hunter recruitment, and CRP enrollment barriers. Notable initiatives include the Recreation Resources Service (RRS) and collaborations on college student-focused hunting programs (e.g., Academics Afield).
