Lina Bjerneld

Lina Bjerneld is a Professor in Fine Art with a focus on drawing/painting and serves as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at University College. Her artistic practice integrates painting, installation, and spatial exploration to examine social, political, and psychological phenomena. She reworks imagery, objects, and genres to generate new interpretative frameworks.

Her research investigates painting’s societal role and performative nature within countercultural visuality, exemplified by the Institute of Reproducibility research project and the zine BILD. These projects emphasize experimental approaches to art’s reproducibility and alternative publishing formats.
