Lilys McCoy

Lilys McCoy is an Adjunct Professor at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She holds a J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law (1991) and a B.A. in Political Science with Distinction from the University of California, San Diego (1987). Prior to academia, she practiced consumer and business litigation for 20 years, specializing in jury/bench trials and alternative dispute resolution.

Her professional affiliations include roles as Vice President of the San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego Inn of Court, and former President of the Lawyers Club of San Diego (2002–2003). She has led initiatives such as the California Conference of Bar Associations (2009–2010) and the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association (2005–2007). Her teaching spans Civil Litigation, Evidence Law, and Business Law at UC San Diego Extension (2010–2012) and ongoing workshops at the San Diego Inn of Court.

McCoy’s advocacy focuses on consumer protection, evidenced by her speaking engagements with organizations like Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego and her volunteer work with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court CARE Program.
