Lily Pitt (赵丽萍) is a Chinese language instructor at Tulane University's Program for Asian Studies. With over 30 years of experience as an interpreter and language educator, she specializes in bridging communication between Mandarin and English speakers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a master’s in linguistics from Florida Atlantic University (2008).

Her career includes roles as an official interpreter for China’s Ministry of Forestry, founder of an interpreting company in England serving high-profile clients like the Bank of England and the UK Department of Trade, and service as an interpreter during the Hong Kong handover. She has taught at Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, and K-12 schools in Florida before joining Tulane.
Lily focuses on equipping students with Chinese language proficiency and cultural understanding. She teaches courses such as Beginning/Intermediate Chinese, Heritage Chinese, and Advanced Special Topics in Chinese. Her work emphasizes practical language application and cross-cultural empathy.
