معرفی
Lilly Immergluck is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics-Infectious Diseases at the University of Chicago. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in pediatric infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, and population health research focused on underserved communities, particularly addressing health disparities affecting children of color. Her work integrates geospatial statistical modeling to understand socio-environmental factors influencing infectious disease transmission.
- Education: B.A. in Biochemistry/Molecular and Cell Biology from Northwestern University (1986), M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine (1990), M.S. in Clinical Research from Morehouse School of Medicine (2013).
- Training: Residency in Pediatrics (1993-1996) and Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases (1996) at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Immergluck's research spans pediatric infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, vaccine development, and public health. She has led clinical trials on SARS-CoV-2 vaccines through the U.S. COVID-19 Prevention Network and developed innovative models for geospatial analysis of health disparities. Her work addresses community-onset infections, vaccine hesitancy, and socio-ecological factors impacting childhood health.
The trends in her publications reflect a focus on infectious disease epidemiology, clinical trials for vaccines, environmental health, and health equity. She has contributed significantly to understanding MRSA, rotavirus vaccines, and the impact of mask policies during pandemics.
- Scientific Awards:
- Pediatric Scientist Development Award (1994)
Dr. Immergluck's grants include a five-year K08 award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (2015) for geospatial modeling of antibiotic resistance. She has held leadership roles at Morehouse School of Medicine (Director of Pediatric Clinical Translational Research Unit) and Emory University (Adjunct Associate Professor). Her career emphasizes mentoring future biomedical scientists and addressing systemic health inequities through research and clinical trial participation.
