Liliana Beltrán is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University’s College of Architecture, affiliated with the Center for Health Systems & Design. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (1997), an M.Arch from the University of Oregon (1985), and a Professional Degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, Lima (1983). Her research focuses on sustainable architecture, energy-efficient design, daylighting analysis, and human-centric lighting, leveraging virtual reality and parametric tools. She leads projects on climate-responsive buildings and zero-net energy strategies, supported by grants like T3: Texas A&M Triads for Transformation. Her work includes adaptive design for climate change and post-occupancy evaluations of daylighting systems.
Dr. Beltrán has taught at institutions such as Texas Tech University, California College of the Arts, and the University of Oregon. Her consultancy includes UNESCO’s restoration of the Kuwait National Museum and the City of Berkeley’s Best Builders Program. She is a LEED AP-certified architect and a Registered Architect in Peru.
