Lilian P.W. Feitosa is an Associate Professor of Portuguese at the University of Virginia's Department of Spanish, Italian & Portuguese. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2008), an M.A. from the same institution, and a B.A. in English and Portuguese from the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), alongside teaching licensures. Her research focuses on gender in literary histories, Brazilian music and nation, and children’s literature, particularly diasporic Afro-Brazilian narratives.
