Lilia Yip

Lilia Yip is a Lecturer in Fashion Design and Development at the London College of Fashion, part of the University of the Arts London. She holds a BA (Hons) qualification and specializes in blending conceptual pattern cutting, material exploration, and sustainable design principles. Her work intersects fashion with cultural identity, ethics, and collaboration, emphasizing zero-waste practices and emotional connectivity through garments.

• Previously affiliated with the University of Brighton and Amsterdam Fashion Academy.
• Collaborated with the British Council, exhibiting globally at institutions like the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Her research focuses on East Asian design philosophy, post-avant-garde fashion, and material cultures. She advocates for holistic educational approaches, fostering creativity and critical thinking among students. Lilia joined LCF through the Academic Development Fund to contribute to collaborative initiatives and the college’s strategic expansion to Stratford.

Her creative practice extends to exhibition design, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaborations with artists, scientists, and musicians.
