Liisa Korkalo is a Lecturer at the University of Helsinki, affiliated with the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry and the Department of Food and Nutrition. Her work focuses on Nutrition, Food Science, and Sustainable Food Systems, with particular emphasis on Child Health, Dietary Patterns, and Public Health Nutrition. She leads and participates in international projects like Empowering Tomorrow's Food Security Leaders (Kenya/Mozambique) and MIRA Helsinki, addressing global nutrition challenges.

Publications span 2025 to 2009, with recent work analyzing metabolomic profiles in children, plant-based diets in preschools, and micronutrient deficiencies in Mozambican adolescents. Her scientific outreach includes media contributions on plant-based diets and nutrition policy, and she serves as an editor for Public Health Nutrition. She actively collaborates with institutions in Finland, Mozambique, and Ethiopia, driving interventions to improve early childhood nutrition and sustainability.
