Liis Roosaar is a Lecturer in Economic Modelling at the University of Tartu's School of Economics and Business Administration (part of the Faculty of Social Sciences), a role she has held since May 2023. Previously, she served as a Visiting Research Fellow (2021–2023) and Junior Research Fellow in Economic Modelling (2017–2021) at the same institution. She holds a Doctor’s Degree in Economics (2022) and a Master’s Degree in Economics (2008), both from the University of Tartu.
Her research focuses on economic modelling, labour mobility, labour productivity, and the structural change of firms. Notable topics include the impact of economic crises on labour churning, age and wage dynamics in productivity, and gender pay gaps in academia. She has contributed to projects such as "Impacts and Future Directions of Platform Work in Estonia" (2024–2026) and "Sustainable and Socially Just Transnational Labour Markets" (2023–2025).
