Dr. Lihua Lou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University. Her research integrates nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, and materials science, with a focus on advancing nanocomposites, cardiac bioengineering, and tissue engineering. She leads a lab dedicated to developing innovative materials and devices for biomedical applications, including 3D-printed myocardial patches and electrospun nanofiber systems.
Education:

Research Interests: Dr. Lou’s work spans nanostructured materials, biomedical device fabrication, and environmental toxicology. Her lab explores nanomechanics of 0D/1D/2D materials, electrospinning techniques, and engineered cardiac tissues. Recent projects include developing hydrogels for drug delivery and studying the mechanical behavior of stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes.
Publications: Her 2025-2024 works focus on nanocomposite synthesis, cardiac tissue engineering, and advanced material characterization. Key areas include 3D-printed cardiac patches, quantum dot-integrated fibers, and electrochromic surface analysis.
