Lidong Xiang

Lidong Xiang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. Her research focuses on children's literature, childhood studies, and social justice issues affecting marginalized children and youth. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Childhood Studies from Rutgers University.

Education: PhD in Childhood Studies (Rutgers University).

Research Interests: Girlhood studies, global childhoods, environmental injustices impacting children, violence, trauma, and memory studies. She examines cultural productions like children's films, literature, and periodicals to critique societal structures affecting youth.

Awards: Affiliated with University Faculty Awards programs.

Teaching: Courses include Global Children’s Literature and Children, Youth, and the City at Risk. She advises students in related fields.
