معرفی
Liangwen Zhong is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Genetics at Yale School of Medicine. He holds a PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China (2015) and has conducted postdoctoral research at UT Health and Weill Cornell Medicine. His expertise spans stem cell biology, developmental biology, and genetics, with a focus on metabolism’s role in embryonic development and pluripotency maintenance. He joined the Sozen lab in 2022 to investigate metabolic and signaling pathways in stem-cell-based embryo development and natural mammalian embryogenesis.
Education: PhD in Reproductive Biology from the University of Science and Technology of China (2015). Postdoctoral training at UT Health (lung progenitor differentiation) and Weill Cornell Medicine (mouse embryonic stem cell pluripotency). Current research emphasizes glucose metabolism in gastrulation, lipid roles in stem cell potency, and histone variants in stem cell homeostasis.
Research Interests: Liangwen’s work bridges stem cell biology and genetics, with key areas including the metabolic regulation of embryonic development, pluripotency maintenance in embryonic stem cells, and genetic causes of infertility. His recent studies highlight how glucose metabolism guides gastrulation and lipid-driven genome stability in pluripotent cells.
Publications Trends: Over 10 peer-reviewed articles since 2013, focusing on stem cell differentiation, metabolic pathways, and genetic mechanisms in development. Notable contributions include defining roles for H3.3 histones in hematopoietic stem cells and generating sex-reversed mice via Y chromosome deletion.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Sozen lab, collaborating with Berna Sozen, Arjun Ravishankar, and others on embryology and stem cell projects. His research aligns with interdisciplinary efforts in organoids and systems immunology at Yale.
