معرفی
Liangcai Gu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Washington, with an adjunct appointment in Genome Sciences. His research focuses on developing protein-based sensors and actuators for chemogenetic and optogenetic manipulation of cellular behaviors in vivo, alongside spatial barcoding and sequencing technologies for single-cell transcriptomics and proteomics in intact tissues.
Education
- B.S., Lanzhou University (1998)
- M.S., Tsinghua University (2002)
- Ph.D., University of Michigan (2008)
Research Themes
Gu's work bridges molecular engineering and systems biology, with applications in cellular senescence, chronic pain, addiction, and therapeutic evolution. His lab combines protein design, spatial omics, and multimodal control systems to address disease mechanisms and biotechnological challenges.
