Liang Bohuang

Liang Bohuang is a full-time Researcher at the Institute of Biochemistry, Academia Sinica and a Professor at the Department of Biochemistry, College of Life Sciences, National Taiwan University. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Maryland (1989-1994) and a Bachelor of Chemistry from National Taiwan University (1982-1986).

His research focuses on

• Mechanistic and structural studies of prenyltransferases
• Antiviral and anti-cancer drug discovery targeting proteases and protein-protein interactions
• Engineering multi-functional cellulose-degrading enzymes for biofuel production

Recent publications highlight his work on SARS-CoV-2 inhibition mechanisms, prenyltransferase evolution, and biofuel enzyme optimization, spanning disciplines like virology, structural biology, and pharmacology.
