Liane Brodie is a coastal scientist and Doctoral Student (D00) at the School of Biological and Marine Sciences. She works as a Junior Research Consultant with Coastal Marine Applied Research (CMAR) within the Coastal Processes Research Group, specializing in coastal modeling and flood/coastal management for six years.
Her expertise includes applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to coastal projects, numerical modeling, overtopping assessments, topographic beach surveys, and coastal morphological evaluations for engineering projects and business cases. She contributes to research aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those addressing environmental sustainability.
Liane’s research focuses on sediment dynamics in coastal environments, hybrid coastal defense solutions, and strategic drivers for coastal management. Her recent work on sediment sorting in seagrass meadows highlights her commitment to understanding coastal processes and informing sustainable management practices.
