Liam Magee

Liam Magee is a Professor in the Department of Education Policy, Organization & Leadership within the College of Education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His academic journey began with a B.A. in English and Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, followed by a Ph.D. in Global Studies, Social Sciences and Planning from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Dr. Magee's research spans the critical intersection of technology, society, and education, with particular focus on digital inclusion, artificial intelligence ethics, disability studies, migration, and sustainability. His work examines how technological systems shape social relations and how marginalized communities navigate and transform these systems, often employing interdisciplinary methodologies that bridge computational analysis with qualitative social research.

His recent publications reveal a strong thematic focus on the societal implications of AI, particularly regarding intersectional bias, digital inclusion for refugees and people with disabilities, and the philosophical underpinnings of technological systems.
