Liad Wagman is Dean and Professor of Economics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Lally School of Management. His research examines competition in technology markets, data regulations, and innovation ecosystems. As former Senior Economic Advisor to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, he led landmark studies on tech acquisitions and data rights.
His current work analyzes GDPR impacts on mobile ecosystems, M&A signaling in tech ventures, and platform governance models. Awarded the Antitrust Writing Award and Poet & Quants recognition, he has testified on antitrust policy and advised governments on digital market regulation.
Publications explore regulatory effects on venture investment, privacy-competition tradeoffs, and empirical analysis of platform economies including Airbnb and Android ecosystems.
