Li Hongyan

Dr. Li Hongyan is a Research Fellow at the Energy Studies Institute (ESI) under the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she has been since July 2023. Previously, she served as a student researcher at ESI. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from NUS and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Shandong University. Her research focuses on decarbonization pathways, climate change mitigation strategies, and policy evaluation, particularly assessing global carbon pricing mechanisms to guide policy adoption in developing nations.

Her work bridges environmental and energy economics with applied microeconomic analysis, emphasizing policy effectiveness. Recent studies include examining grade signals in educational decision-making and analyzing climate impacts on academic performance in Singapore. Publications appear in prestigious outlets like the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.
