Joydeep Ghosh

Dr. Joydeep Ghosh is a Research Fellow at the Energy Studies Institute (ESI), National University of Singapore (NUS), since June 2023. With over 10 years of expertise, he specializes in computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling to analyze energy, climate, and sustainable development issues. His work includes constructing Social Accounting Matrices (SAMs) with energy and environmental accounts. Dr. Ghosh's research focuses on climate policy-technological progress interplay, economic impacts of pandemics, and carbon pricing mechanisms aligned with the Paris Agreement targets.

His research interests span CGE Modelling, Carbon Markets, Techno-Economic Assessments, and Climate Finance. Notably, he examines policy trade-offs between cost implications of climate strategies and agricultural productivity shocks. Recent studies explore India's green energy transition and post-COVID-19 economic scenarios.

Articles highlight his contributions to understanding carbon pricing in India, education expenditure's role in inclusive growth, and low-carbon transport in Bhutan. His work integrates economic modeling with environmental policy analysis, emphasizing sustainable development pathways for developing economies.
