Dr. Lewys Brace is a Senior Lecturer in Computational Social Science at the University of Exeter, serving as programme coordinator for the MSc Security and Data Science and Co-Director of the Centre for Computational Social Science (C2S2). His research focuses on online extremism, terrorism, and cybercrime, leveraging computational methods like AI and natural language processing. He leads the Security and Policing theme at the Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Research Interests: Extremism, terrorism, online radicalisation, cybercrime, quantitative methods, social data science, artificial intelligence, and open-source intelligence (OSINT).
Recent Work: Key contributions include socio-semantic network analysis for extremist ecosystems and applying computer vision to counter online extremism.
