Dr. Levent Altinay is Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Oxford Brookes Business School and Editor-in-Chief of the Service Industries Journal. With extensive international collaborations, his research examines entrepreneurship, franchising, and ethnic minority business growth.
Research Focus: Altinay investigates socio-cultural influences on entrepreneurship, international franchising partnerships, and hospitality management. Recent work addresses refugee entrepreneurship and elderly wellbeing through hospitality services.
Education: PhD focused on entrepreneurial processes in ethnic minority businesses.
Leadership: Served on REF 2021 Business Panel and Hong Kong RAE panels. Leads projects funded by ESRC, British Academy, and EU on topics including elderly social isolation and cultural heritage tourism.
