Leticia Robles-Moreno is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Muhlenberg College, serving full-time since 2017 after beginning as an adjunct instructor in 2016. She teaches introductory theatre courses alongside specialized seminars on race, gender, performance, and politics in the Americas, while advising student groups Comunidad (for Latine students) and Artists for Activism.
Her academic foundation includes undergraduate literature studies in Peru with concurrent theatre performance experience, a master's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Ph.D. in performance studies from New York University—merging her dual passions for literary analysis and theatrical practice.
Research Focus: Robles-Moreno investigates creación colectiva (Latin American devised theatre) as a resistance strategy during authoritarian regimes, examining how collaborative art sustains community under political oppression. Her work bridges Theatre Studies, Performance Studies, and social justice movements through interdisciplinary analysis of artistic community-building.
She integrates departmental productions into pedagogy, co-directing 2023's The Labyrinth of Desire with Troy Dwyer, and during her 2024 sabbatical taught in Peru while translating Gabriel Jason Dean's work—facilitating transnational workshops connecting Muhlenberg and Peruvian students via Zoom to explore activist art practices.
