Leticia Bode

Leticia Bode is a Professor in the Communication, Culture, and Technology master’s program at Georgetown University, where she serves as the inaugural Research Director of the Knight-Georgetown Institute. Her academic work focuses on the intersection of communication, technology, and political behavior, with a particular emphasis on how information technologies shape political information acquisition and use.

Her research explores topics including incidental exposure to political information on social media, the effects of political comedy, social media use by political elites, selective exposure dynamics, and evolving political socialization in digital environments. Her publications appear in journals such as the Journal of Communication, New Media and Society, and Information, Communication, and Society.

Recent work trends highlight her focus on misinformation correction strategies, news literacy interventions, and social media's role in health/political discourse.
